BIARRITZ shot by GEORGES ANCELY, photographies 1880 - 1895

The exhibition is an opportunity to return to the beginnings of seaside tourism in Biarritz, between worldliness and simplicity, at the time when photography on glass plate revolutionized the modes of representation. Prints (enlarged from original plates) allow you to see the true face of the city 130 years ago. The scenography takes into account objects from everyday life, posters, reproduction costumes, movies ... through a journey both rhythmic and dreamlike.
