60 years of Surf in Biarritz"

From hesitant beginnings in 1957 at the Côte des Basques, to the organisation of the World Championships of Nations in 2017, Biarritz and its spots have witnessed the evolution of a discipline practiced today along the entire French, and even European coast. Now surfing is an integral part of the local culture, its history and daily life.

In the summer of 2017, Biarritz celebrates 60 years of surfing in France and proposes an itinerant programme around surf culture at several emblematic sites of the city: the Côte des Basques, the Grande Plage, the Médiathèque and the Cité de l’Ocean.
